Virginia Greene is a 73 year old artist. She was born in Fontana, California. She works in a variety of media, most recently assemblage, collage, and installation. The evocative qualities of found objects are a recurring source of inspiration for her work.

Her education and work experience are in the fields of architecture and early childhood education. She holds a B.A. from Indiana University, with a major in Fine Arts; an M.Arch. in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago; and a M.A. in early childhood education from Lewis & Clark College. She worked in the field of architecture in Chicago, specializing in hospital renovation, then as an early education classroom teacher in Portland, Oregon. She has volunteered in schools to bring art experiences to children, as well as teaching after school art workshops for children in her home.

She currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
